Manitowoc Lifts Quality Assurance System

Manitowoc Lifts is a member of the Automotive Lift Institute (A.L.I.), a trade association of lift manufacturers and distributors, who have developed automotive lift standards since 1947. Our lifts are designed and tested to comply with the latest american national standard for automotive lifts - safety requirements for the construction, testing, and validation. (ANSI/ALI ALCTV-1998)

Our quality assurance program is a planned and written system of policies and procedures, similar to I.S.O. 9000, that assure consistent and continuing conformance to this national standard. The quality program is implemented by the quality assurance manager.

The system of policies and procedures is outlined in the quality manual and includes the following:
A. The company organization, stating their functions and duties.
B. Design Control
C. Engineering drawing and Specification control
D. Engineering change control
E. Material and Parts identification control
F. Procurement control
G. Special process control
H. Inspection
I. Measuring and test equipment calibration
J. Records control
K. Auditing the quality system
L. General operating procedures
M. Exhibits of standard forms used to implement these policies and procedures.

A semi-annual factory survey is done to certify continued implementation and conformance of our quality system and automotive lifts to the ANSI/ALI ALCTV-1998 standard. Surveys are conducted by Intertek Testing Services (I.T.S.), a national accredited test laboratory designated by the standards sponsor for third party inspection of compliance to the standard.
