Founded in 1946 as Consumer Steel Co., we now have over fifty years of experience and are firmly established in the specialized steel fabricating business. Eck Industries Inc., a premier aluminum foundry, purchased the assets of Conusmer Steel Co. on June 1, 1984, and changed the name to Consumers, Inc.

We Specialize in production flame cutting, 3/8" shearing, brake press forming to 175 tons, sawing, hydraulic press forming, rolling, blanking to 1000 tons, and welding of ferrous/non-ferrous materials. All of our welders are state certified to A.W.S. D1.1 with documentation available upon request.

Additional services Consumers Inc. can provide include Value Engineering of existing products with CAD drafting and design. Our Quality Assurance Program is third party audited by ITS, Intertech Testing Services, on a semi-annual basis, and meets the ANSI Z34.1 requirements.

Consumers Inc. manufactured in-ground automotive lifts for Gilbarco Inc., in 1986, and later several two-post above ground lift models of our design. Both were sold under the Gilbarco name. In 1991, Gilbarco sold the assets and merchandising rights for in-ground lifts to Consumers Inc, at which time the name was changed to Manitowoc Lifts.
